We publish in full the note received by Antonio De Comite, (CUN socio National UFO Center) investigations section of Taranto:
Dear Sir. I am writing in regard to the news published by your site on 8 October 2012, concerning an alleged UFO sighting in Manduria. A few words to say that the mysterious object was not a "flying saucer", as reported by "experts" ufologists of the UFO Center Mediterranean, but rather a volatile. Proof? Attached to this email a simple analysis done with "Photoshop" with use of the filter "shadow dashed". Well, the analysis shows unequivocally that there is a "Blurfo" that UFOlogy is an indication of a distorted and blurred the careful eye identifies with flying saucers and spaceships, but that are actually produced from birds and insects that flow in a certain area (for example, close to a camera when the "focus" is set to "infinity" or "zoom in" on distant objects), and which are transformed into points, lines, stripes elongated in form of disk. Even the smallest of insects, therefore, appears as a large, dark "disk". Given that the UFO phenomenon is real and incontrovertible, but of unknown origin and nature, in the case of Manduria it is simply explainable conventionally. No flying saucer, but a rather volatile.
